Biography
I believe people heal while in relationship with others. Through my diverse professional experience and compassionate approach, I strive to create a therapeutic space where both children and adults can heal, grow, and find their voices.
My focus is on therapy for young children ages 2-10, where I collaborate closely with their caregivers often in the aftermath of trauma. By utilizing play and relationship-building techniques, the focus is on strengthening the caregiver-child connection, enabling families to create a shared narrative that helps process stressful experiences and improve emotional well being. My approach integrates synergistic and child-centered play therapy, fostering a safe and supportive environment for healing.
In addition to my work with children, I have a deep commitment to supporting adults, particularly those struggling with grief, recovering from childhood trauma, or sexualized violence. I possess specific training and experience in assisting individuals deconstructing from high-control religions or cults, empowering them to reclaim their narratives and rebuild their lives.
With decades of experience in traditional social work settings, I transitioned to clinical practice in 2021, bringing knowledge and insight into my therapeutic work. I am also proud to teach in the Department of Social Work at Cal Poly Humboldt, where I share my passion for helping others heal and gain insight about their lives.
